For Artists

Sketching while you travel is a unique and amazing way to find and see the details of a location, a statue, an architectural element, or a cultural costume.

If you don't think you can draw, this website will provide simple monthly drawing lessons that will get you started. And when you sit at a Parisian cafe or on a Sorrento cliffside bench and start sketching, you'd be surprised how many locals walk up and talk to you. It's a great way to meet people.

Many novels that involve traveling or foreign destinations are about artists or involve art mysteries. Have you ever wanted to explore the Bruges of Hans Memling? How about follow in the footsteps of Ruben's Flemish spy network? Would a visit to Michelangelo's home in Florence inspire you? After viewing the life of a particular artist, you might regard his work with further insight and see parts of a story you never noticed before.
